Tesla Powerwall 3 ACT 2906
The standards decide where a battery can sit: clearances, the wall behind it, and the run back to the switchboard. Here the position the owner wanted stayed, and the battery changed to one rated to live outdoors. A plumber capped a disused gas line on the same visit.
Everything was smooth from the initial quote, through to the installation. There was some initial back and forth about which type of battery to install and location. In the end my preferred location was not going to meet standards which then meant having to change the brand of battery to one that would be more suitable outdoors. This was all handled well by Michael and the team.
Second Tesla Powerwall ACT 2600
The owner wanted a second battery beside one another company had installed a year earlier, so inspecting that first one was part of the job. Faults nobody could see at quoting turned up on the day, and were corrected at no charge.

Battery retrofit ACT 2905
Retrofitting storage to an existing array depends on things you can only see on site. The inverter already fitted, spare ways in the switchboard, where a battery can legally sit, and how far that is from the meter. Some of the companies asked to quote this job never visited the house.
I reviewed all of the companies on the ACT Government approved list for a solar battery to add to my existing solar panel system. I sought quotes from the 6 best rated companies. From the 4 quotes I received I chose SunStak. The main reason I chose them was because they were the most responsive, helpful and reasonably priced, a couple of the others didn't even visit the house before quoting.

A school roof is a set-out problem with a deadline attached. The array had to be planned, delivered and commissioned inside the break before the new term, on a site coordinated by somebody else. Forty kilowatts of panels onto one long hall roof, in five days, with six people on it.

Commercial solar and battery Lyneham ACT
The temple was referred by community members worried about its power bills: a large, draughty, hard-to-heat complex. Twenty kilowatts of solar and a forty-kilowatt-hour battery, with the meter board upgraded to carry it. The battery is there to hold the peak down, which on a commercial tariff is a separate charge from the energy.

The cost depends on the battery capacity you need, whether you have solar already, the distance between the battery and your meter, and any switchboard upgrades required.
We give you a written quote tailored to your home, with equipment, model numbers and any eligible federal discount clearly listed. If anything changes, we explain the cost and get your approval before the work begins.
Your discount depends on your battery’s usable capacity, the federal certificate factor when it is installed and the value of each certificate.
Using a factor of 6.8 and our certificate price of $36, eligible capacity is calculated in tiers:
• The first 14 kWh counts in full. • The next 14 kWh counts at 60%.• Capacity above 28 kWh counts at 15%, up to a total of 50 kWh.
We show the calculation in your quote and deduct the discount from the price. The retailer handles the certificates, so you do not need to lodge a separate claim.
The federal discount works the same way in the ACT and NSW. Eligible ACT customers can use the ACT loan to finance the remaining cost. Visit our rebates page for details on the support available in each state and territory.

RATES AS AT 29 JULY 2026
The rebate reduces every six months through to 2030, so the same battery attracts a smaller discount over time.
Your installation date determines the rate, not the date you sign or accept a quote. Ask for the expected installation date and rebate amount to be clearly shown in your quote.

Start with how much electricity you use after the sun goes down. Where available, we use twelve months of your meter data to size the battery around your actual usage.
Bigger is not always better. Extra capacity may go unused, and larger batteries receive a smaller federal discount per added kilowatt hour.
The right number depends on your daytime energy use, available roof space, shading and electrical limits. We work through these as part of your system design.
We measure your roof on site and check what your switchboard and local network allow. Your design shows how many panels suit your home and where they will go.
Solar can lower your bills by reducing how much electricity you buy from the grid. The more solar power you use during the day, the more value you generally get from your system.
A battery lets you store excess solar for the evening. We use your energy usage and tariffs to show whether solar, with or without a battery, makes sense for your home.
A solar battery stores excess power from your panels so you can use it later. Instead of sending all your surplus electricity to the grid, you keep some to power your home after dark.
The system’s software manages when the battery charges and supplies power, based on settings, electricity rates and, in some systems, weather forecasts. If your system is set up for backup, it can also supply power during an outage.
Some do, but backup needs to be included in the system design. The batteries we install can support your whole home within their power limits, or selected circuits such as the fridge, lights and internet. We confirm what suits your home during the site visit.
Changeover is automatic, though you may notice a brief interruption. With a compatible setup and enough sunlight, your panels can recharge the battery during an outage to help keep your home running.
