SunStak supports ACT Labor’s Big Canberra Battery

SunStak has today welcomed the election commitment by the ACT Labor Government to establish the ‘Big Canberra Battery’.

The Big Canberra Battery, with a capacity of at least 250MW of battery storage, will be one of the most significant battery storage projects in Australia, further cementing the ACT as the renewable energy capital of Australia and Canberra as one of the world’s most sustainable cities.

SunStak’s Chair, Blake Wilson said that “with investment in world leading renewable energy solutions and security, Canberra is well on its way to becoming a globally recognised centre for renewable energy innovation and investment”.

“SunStak was established to help households and organisations become more energy independent, efficient and effective by leveraging proven solar energy generation, storage and consumption solutions” said Mr Wilson.

Battery storage is the key ‘missing link’ technology that is required to unlock the full potential of renewable energy generation. Much like how traditional fossil fuels store energy for later consumption, battery storage allows access to sustainably generated energy when it is needed.

Home and grid-connected battery storage solutions allow households and businesses to increase the utilisation of their rooftop solar systems to reduce emissions and power bills.
